When we say we're boutique, we mean it. We have seven individual units and a communal room accomodating a maximum of ten cats, so you can be sure your cat will receive individual care and attention during their stay with us. The cattery is air conditioned so it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Our individual units are suitable for kittens, less social cats, or those with special dietary or medical needs.
They are cozy and comfortable spaces containing a large climbing frame, floor area for playtime and a comfortable bed to rest or sleep in. You are welcome to bring your cat's own bedding if you prefer, or a blanket from home to help them settle in.
Our individual units are enclosed with toughened glass so although your cat will have their own space, there is a feeling of open space and they won't feel alone.
Our communal room is great for cats who enjoy socialising or those who prefer more space to roam and play.
It is an open plan, sunny space that is full of toys, climbing equipment and cozy beds or boxes to rest in. As it is a neutral territory cats do not fight and it is for this reason that we ask that bedding or personal items are not brought with you from home. We have plenty of bedding that is regularly laundered.
Please note that although we may allow kittens to play in this room, they are not left unattended.
My name is Lisa and I'm a self-confessed cat lover and the owner/operator of Tauranga Cat Hotel.
Prior to Tauranga Cat Hotel I was the owner/operator of a much larger cattery in Auckland, before moving our family to Tauranga. Although my background prior to owning catteries was as a Medical PA, I have always loved animals and have raised and loved several cats. Our family have three cats, Mittens a Moggy, Mackintosh a British Shorthair, and Flora an Exotic Shorthair.
We created Tauranga Cat Hotel as somewhere we would love our own cats to stay. Because our guest numbers are small I spend time getting to know each cat and they are treated like my own while they are staying with me.
