frequently asked questions

Can I view the cattery before I make a booking?
Viewings can be arranged during our morning arrival and departure times (9:30 to 10:00).  These are limited to 5-10 minutes to ensure our guests are not unsettled.  For your own safety, we ask that you do not touch our guests without asking and that voices are kept quiet.

What food will my cat be fed?
We feed our guests Hills Science Diet or Royal Canin dry food twice daily and there is plenty of fresh water available throughout the day.  We are happy to feed your cat a special diet if this is provided to us, however your cat will require an individual unit for their stay.  

What happens if my cat is unwell during their stay?
We have a local vet available 24 hours a day in the unlikely event that your cat becomes ill.  We will make contact with you or your emergency contact immediately and ensure your cat is seen by the vet.  A fee of $30 is charged for any vet visit and all vet costs will be passed on to you for settlement.

Where will my cat stay while in the cattery?
We have two options for accomodation.  Our individual rooms are suitable for kittens, less social cats, or those with special dietary or medical needs.  
Our communal room is great for cats who enjoy socialising or those who prefer more freedom to roam and play.  We do not accomodate cats in our communal area if they are fed a special diet.  

Can I bring my cat's own bed to the cattery?
If your cat is booked in an individual room you are more than welcome to bring your cat's bed.  We limit any personal effects to one bed per cat as we require the floor to be clear for hygiene and safety reasons.  
If your cat is booked in our communal room we ask that you don't bring bedding from home as we cannot be responsible for this being soiled by other guests.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
A 25% deposit is required prior to your booking being confirmed.  Christmas bookings (15th December to 31st January) and bookings over 30 days require a 50% deposit.  
All deposits are non-refundable ​irrespective of cancellation notice given.  

If I make a booking but collect my cat earlier or change my dates what will I pay for?
You will pay for the original period booked.  We are a small facility and we turn away other bookings to accomodate those that are confirmed.   
​Bookings made during peak times (school/public holidays and Christmas period) are payable in full irrespective of cancellation notice given.

​Do you offer a discount for long bookings?
No.  We do however offer a discounted rate for multiple cats booked together from the same household.

Can you administer medication to my cat?
We will administer medication provided it is accompanied by clear instructions.  Lisa is trained to administer medication including Insulin to diabetic cats.  

Will you groom my cat?
We don't offer a grooming service, however all guests are brushed daily if they are happy with this.  If you require your cat to be groomed we can arrange for this to be done by a local groomer at your cost.  

Can I visit my cat during their stay?
Visits can be arranged during our arrival and departure times, by prior arrangement, however we keep this to a minimum as it unsettles our other guests. Visits are limited to 5-10 minutes.

Why do you have set arrival and departure times?  Can I collect my cat outside of these times?
Our arrival and departure times are set so that our guests have time to rest throughout the day. It may be possible for your cat to arrive or depart outside of our usual hours however a fee of $30 is charged for this and this must be pre-arranged.  

Will I receive updates during my cat's stay?
We post regular photos of our guests on our Facebook and Instagram pages.  We are also happy for you to contact us by email or phone if you would like an update.

​How can I pay for my cat's stay?
We accept payment by cash, eftpos or credit card (Visa or MasterCard).  Please note a 3% fee is charged for credit card payments.
